Wolfgang-Gentner-Award for Young Researchers

Dr. Sita Johanna Saunders (Department of Computer Science) and Dr. Matthias Koch (Department of Microsystems Engineering) were awarded the Wolfgang-Gentner-Award for Young Researchers 2015 by the President of the University of Freiburg Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Jochen Schiewer during the opening ceremony of the academic year 2015/16.

Dr. Saunders received the award for her PhD thesis "Computational analyses of post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms", which she performed at the Department of Computer Science

Dr. Koch received the award for his PhD thesis"Biomechanics of prokaryotic & eukaryotic cytoskeletal model systems probed by time-multiplexed optical tweezers", which he performed at the Lab Bio- and Nanophotonics, Department of Microsystems Engineering.

The award is endowed by the Volksbank Freiburg and comes witz a prize money of 1.250,-€.
