Dr Sandeep Kumar Vashist, Laboratory for MEMS applications, has recently published the manuscript “Immobilization of antibodies and enzymes on 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane-functionalized bioanalytical platforms for biosensors and diagnostics”.

The manuscript was published in Chemical Reviews, which is the topmost publication by the American Chemical Society in the field of chemical sciences with an impact factor of 45.7 and is available online at http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/cr5000943.

It provides a state-of-the-art comprehensive review of biomolecular immobilization strategies on APTES-functionalized platforms for biosensors and diagnostics. It demonstrates the significant advances made by Dr. Vashist and his collaborators from Canada and Ireland for the development of successive generations of analytically-superior biosensors and/or diagnostics. Dr. Vashist's ongoing research at IMTEK is a further advancement of his established expertise in this field, which is paving way to critically improved, rapid, simplified and highly-sensitive in-vitro diagnostics.
