Excitement and Innovation at the System Design Project Robotics Competition

Faculty of Engineering Welcomes Over 360 Students to the Grand Finale.

The Faculty of Engineering will soon host one of the most exciting events of the year: the System Design Project (SDP) Robotics Competition. Over 360 students, organized into 87 teams, will compete to showcase their self-developed robotics systems. This blend of creativity, technical expertise, and teamwork promises an electrifying event that will vividly demonstrate the innovative strength of the young engineers.

When:
February 14, 2025, 10:00 - 18:00
Where: Faculty of Engineering, Georges-Köhler-Allee 101, Building 101 Foyer
Special Notes: Free admission, no registration required

The Competition: Where Technology Meets Team Spirit
Over the past several months, the students have worked intensively to program, design, and build their robots to achieve maximum functionality and efficiency. Now, the big day is approaching: the teams will face a series of challenging tasks that will test their innovative solutions, reaction times, precision, and design creativity. The energy and ambition of the participants make the SDP competition a true highlight of the academic year.

Partner Companies as Strong Supporters
The competition is made possible through the generous support of renowned companies. Bosch Sensortec, SensoPart Industriesensorik, and TDK Micronas are sponsoring the event. These companies are not only synonymous with technological excellence but also with their commitment to fostering the next generation of engineers.

A special highlight: On the day of the event, the partner companies will also be present as exhibitors. This offers participants and all guests the chance to engage directly and effortlessly with company representatives. Whether it’s about technological innovations, future career opportunities, or simply a professional exchange, the companies are ready to share their expertise and provide valuable insights.

The two coordinators of the competition, Alexander Richter and Till Steinmann, emphasize the importance of collaboration: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bosch Sensortec, SensorPart, and TDK Micronas for their valuable support of the SDP competition! Special thanks go to Mr. Zinn, Ms. Weyhmann, and Ms. Schmider for their outstanding organization on behalf of the companies. We are looking forward to a fantastic event!”

A Glimpse into the Future of Technology
From an academic perspective, the SDP competition is also a milestone. Prof. Dr. Stefan Rupitsch, who provides scientific guidance for the event, expresses his enthusiasm: “The robotics competition impressively demonstrates how theory and practice can come together. The students apply their acquired skills in an impressive way and tackle real technical challenges. This event is not only a platform for innovation but also for the engineers of tomorrow, who are making their first major appearance here.”

Save the Date!
All technology enthusiasts, students, and supporters are warmly invited to join this special event and experience the teams’ achievements live. We look forward to welcoming you to the Faculty of Engineering to celebrate the robots of the future together!
