IMTEK / Lab careers: Juergen Steigert accepts position as R&D engineer at Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart

Juergen Steigert worked as PhD student and since 2008 as head of the “Tools for Cells” group at IMTEK. Now, he was offered a permanent position as R&D-Engineer at the Corporate Research Center of the Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart as of September 2009.

For his PhD thesis Juergen Steigert received in 2006 the prestigious scholarship of the “Hans. L. Merkle program for excellence in research, science and technology” supported by Robert Bosch GmbH and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft. In his PhD thesis he developed a new tool, the Pico-Injector, for the discrete chemical stimulation of individual cells in their physiological liquid environment. Since March 2008 he has been working in the position of a group leader in the Laboratory for MEMS Applications, where he was responsible for the development of the “Pathway Assembler Technology Platform” within the excellence cluster “Centre of Biological Signalling Studies – bioss”.
After more than five year at the Laboratory for MEMS Applications Juergen Steigert accepted a position as research and development engineer at the Robert Bosch GmbH. He will work at the Corporate Research Center in Gerlingen–Schillerhöhe.
