International Student Conference on Microtechnology

Top speakers from industry and science will offer insights into current topics in the world of microsystem technology at the first International Student Conference on Microtechnology - research highlights - networking - career building from 8th - 14th October 2012 in Freiburg, Germany. The Conference targets students of engineering and natural sciences interested in mircotechnology.

Mobility, health care, smart systems integration and energy in the 21st century will all be topics of the conference´s scientific programme at the conference venue IMTEK - Department of Microsystems Engineering, University of Freiburg, Freiburg i. Br., Germany from 8th - 12th October 2012. A job fair with leading companies in the microtechnology area from the cluster region offers direct contacts and networking opportunities for a professional career. A science presentation competition and a creativity team contest during the conference offering prices up to 500 € for the competition and up to 1000 € for the team contest. Partners of the MicroTEC Südwest (Southwest) cluster will present state-of-the-art R&D results and microtechnology applications.

 

Following the conference a two-and-a-half day post conference programme (12th afternoon - 14th October 2012) will give the opportunity to learn more about the cluster MicroTEC Südwest (Southwest) and its members, as well as the region. The programme comprises site visits to renowned microsystems technology companies and cutting-edge research institutions from the same field and will be organized by Baden-Württemberg International.

 

The Student Conference kicks off a series of activities and events providing interested students with access to a career in Microsystems Technology in the top-level cluster MicroTEC Südwest (Southwest) in Germany.

 

Organisers of the Student Conference are the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen, the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) of the University of Freiburg and the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum. The conference is supported by the Federal German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
