LIMITS 2024

Live broadcast of the Tenth Workshop on Computing Within Limits

The Tenth Workshop on Computing Within Limits (LIMITS 2024) is a virtual, distributed workshop with the aim of discussing "the role of computing in human societies in a world of limits". The workshop will consist of online presentations followed by discussions.

The event is organized by faculty members from 16 European and North American universities. To enable local networking and community-building, the lectures will be broadcast live in many cities (Toronto, Vancouver, Brussels, Tampere, Bordeaux, Paris, Munich, and Freiburg have been confirmed so far).

The four main topics this year are:

  • Digital Futures within Limits
  • Limits in Education
  • Computing for the Energy Transition
  • Speculative Designs within Limits

The workshop will take place on June 18 and 19 from 17:00 to 21:00. We will broadcast the lectures live on campus, in the livMatS Biomimetic Shell @ FIT (Georges-Köhler-Allee 105, 79110 Freiburg).

The event is open to all members of the university and free of charge. Interested persons are invited to join the Signal Group or send an e-mail to Jonathan Larochelle.
