The International Conference on the Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems (COMS) is the most important annual event where strategies and achievements in the commercialisation of MEMS products are discussed. This year the COMS took place in Baden-Baden, Germany, from 21.-25 August 2005.

Thilo Brenner, a PhD student at the lab for MEMS applications, has won the COMS poster award for his contribution “Fabrication Chain for Prototyping of Microfluidic Chips in Polymers”. The poster describes a technology for the  manufacturing of plastic microfluidics chips by micro injection moulding within but a few days. The technology is efficiently used in the lab for MEMS Applications to speed up the development cycle for Lab-on-a-chip products.
