The robots are starting again
More than 400 students compete for the title in the categories fastest robot, best designed robot and most innovative robot as part of the System Design Projekt.
The students get a Lego robot construction kit and compete against each other in interdisciplinary groups. The students are first-year students of Computer Science, Sustainable Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering and Microsystems Engineering. Some students from other faculties are also involved. About 93 groups compete against each other.
The task is to build a vehicle that independently drives along a course that is not known to the participants beforehand. The teams only know the exact task and the dimensions of the slope, tunnels and obstacles. The challenge is for the robots to complete the course as quickly as possible. The robots have to stop in front of a barrier where they are loaded with a ball. This must be deposited in a container at the end of the course. In addition, the robots have to turn around in front of obstacles or push them away.
At the end of the competition, the certificates and a congratulatory letter will be handed over.
The event is aimed at students and researchers at the University of Freiburg as well as all other interested parties. Representatives of the press are welcome.
Admission is free, registration is not required.
