Google Faculty Research Award
Frank Hutter, Professor for Machine Learning, is one of only 14 researchers worldwide (and the only one in Europe) selected for a Google Faculty Research Award in the area of Machine Learning and Data Mining this year.

Prof. Hutter will use the award (75.800 Dollar) to develop new state-of-the-art methods for efficient joint neural architecture search and hyperparameter optimization, building on his group's existing work on efficient Bayesian optimization, learning curve extrapolation, and automated deep learning.
