New at the faculty

Alfons Dehé takes up the Georg H. Endress Chair of Smart Systems Integration at the Department of Microsystems Engineering (MST) of the Faculty of Engineering.

The endowed chair is affiliated to the management of the Hahn-Schickard Institute at Villingen-Schwenningen. Dehé represents the Microsystem Design field of research and Cleanroom Manufacturing. He develops silicon microphones that are used in smartphones or in Industry 4.0 applications, as well as environmental sensors that can be used to monitor air quality, amongst other things.

Dehé studied physics at the RWTH Aachen University and received his doctorate in 1997 at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. Since 1998 he has built up the entire supply chain for silicon microphones at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich and developed innovative microsystem sensors for mobile applications.
